In October, 1972, Bill Regali had a wife, two young sons, five-thousand dollars and a dream. The 29-year-old salesman left a solid sales job with Building Systems—a now-defunct metal building contractor—to form American Structures General. Bill had observed that there wasn’t a lot of competition in the pre-engineered steel building field. He had a hunch this relatively new form of construction would have great potential—and he was right!

The Company’s first project, the VFW Club in Sun Prairie cost under $50,000 to complete. Today, American Structures General’s annual billing is in the millions of dollars. Among the projects ASG has recently completed is a 96,000 sq. ft. addition to Uniek’s 144,000 sq. ft. facility in Waunakee. The largest project the Company has handled is the 150,000 Sq. ft. addition to Perry Printing in Baraboo.

Though the history of American Structures General spans over three decades, the same values on which the company was built remain relevant today. As company founder, Bill Regali sought to create a business which provided state-of-the-art construction as well as outstanding customer service. In fact, when American Structures submits a bid, it’s the compete package with no hidden charges.

In 1982, American Structures General began its long association with Butler Manufacturing—the world’s premier manufacturer of pre-engineered building systems. As a member of a select group of authorized Bulter Builders, American Structures provides the highest quality of pre-engineered building systems available today.

American Structures General specializes in design-build commercial and industrial projects. Offering distinct advantages over traditional construction methods, design-build simplifies the building process by creating a single source of responsibility, resulting in more accurate communication and more reliable cost estimates with fewer changes. Fewer changes mean projects are completed on time and within budget.

Over the past thirty years, American Structures General has been in charge of building some of the biggest commercial structures in Dane County. The Company’s success has been in its ability to accurately orchestrate complex projects—utilizing the pool of quality craftsmen and construction professionals in the Madison, Wisconsin area.

It is then the combination of Butler Manufacturing and American Structure General’s general contracting expertise that have blended to create this powerhouse of construction in the upper midwest. Let American Structures General put its many years of construction experience and pride in customer satisfaction to work for you.
